Originating in Central Africa, Wenge is a species that can grow up to 18-27 meters and has a trunk diameter of about 1 meter. It has received worldwide acclaim for its characteristic color, robustness, durability and resistance to termite attacks.

Appearance:

The heartwood is medium brown, sometimes striped almost black with a reddish or yellowish tint. When a wood polish (especially an oily finish) is applied, the wood can turn almost black.
